Those foundations are used with ISO bottom twistlocks as the wide body manual twistlock or the semiautomatic wide body twistlock , to secure the containers to the deck of the vessel.
It can also be used in combination with a turn foot d-ring type or various kinds of twistlocks.

The ISO hole is elongated, usual lengths are 144, 164 or 185mm.
The elongated hole allows for the movement between the hatch cover and the side stanchions.
